Translating Advanced Activation Research to Chairside Reality
How does complex anatomy influence apical predictability?
Friday, April 17
Noon – 1:00 p.m. (lunch provided)
Park City #717
High-resolution micro-CT analysis of extracted molars and pre-molars provides new insight into canal morphology and apical obturation patterns. Complementary histologic research comparing contemporary irrigation activation approaches further examines differences in apical tissue removal following minimally invasive preparation.
Mustafa Gundogar, PhD: Professor of endodontics and co-author of both investigations, will review the morphologic and biologic considerations surrounding complex anatomy and apical cleaning challenges.
Karen Potter, DDS: Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics, will translate these findings into practical chairside considerations for managing complex cases like retreatments, C-Shaped canals, and cases with accessory anatomy while preserving dentin integrity.
This session integrates imaging science and clinical execution to provide an evidence-based framework for evaluating irrigation strategy in complex anatomy.
